Congress sometimes sneaks policy changes into the annual defense spending bill (the NDAA, or National Defense Authorization Act). Any psychedelic language that makes it in will only allow more research — it won't change psilocybin's current status as a Schedule I drug, meaning police and prosecutors can still fully enforce the ban.
Research riders don't touch scheduling. Enforcement posture holds. Communities I answer to aren't ready for normalization, and neither is the evidence for safety at scale.
